Suits have come a long way.. No more drab 'uniform' you wear to your cubicle. These new powersuits make a statement.. Even in an office environment... The lines appear familiar, but yet there are new twists. The materials, the colors, the shoulders...all very powerful. I am loving the dark hues and the structuring of the jackets.

The Trench

It is the time of the year where many of us find ourselves in, shall I say, non-advantageous weather conditions. It is for that reason, that we must find ways to protect our valuable suits during our commutes to and from work and during our nights out.
The classic trench coat is a piece that every fashion conscious man should have hanging in his closet. It will never go out of style and can become one of the staples of your wardrobe along with those vintage boots and your favorite pair of jeans.

Office Basics: the Perfect Bag

As a business woman, you're probably carrying personal items, your laptop, documents, and even occasionally a camera to the office. In other words, you need a large, functional bag, that looks luxurious. Thankfully, there is quite the variety out there. Whether it's a designer bag, that's big enough for all of your stuff, or a laptop bag that looks like a pretty purse, there's plenty to choose from.

Office Basics: the Wrap Dress

This basic is my absolute favorite. When in doubt, I always turn to a good wrap dress. Add a scarf, black tights, and you have a fast work appropriate look. I tend to gravitate towards dresses anyway, simply because they are always flattering on me and I look put together, even if I just threw it on in five minutes. The other reason you can't ever have too many wrap dresses: they are day-to-night proof. Add some jewelry and a nice clutch, and you are ready to go out for a few cocktails.

We decided to change the direction of this blog slightly, and focus primarily on office apparel. What to wear to work is usually the dilemma we face every morning. Keeping up with fashion and incorporating it into our office looks, while staying on budget is no easy feat, but very much doable.
