More Designer Collabos

We, the consumers keep profiting from the current economic crisis... Even more designers are collaborating with major retailers to get us their prêt-à-porter. I'm all for it... If it means I can get my Jimmy Choos at a fraction of the cost at H&M, or Gaultier!!! at Target, I'm a happy girl. Just the other day I was like a kid in the candy store, rummaging through the Anna Sui racks at Tar-zheeee... oh, what a lovely world we live in... fashion is becoming less and less highbrow, and the designers have finally figured out where the money is...

New in Men's Suiting

Rag & Bone

Paul Smith

William Rast

Band of Outsiders

Michael Kors

I'm loving the Spring 2010 menswear... It's looking quite refreshing. Lots of color...
Rag & Bone is putting a laid back spin on the traditional, by adding vests, and leather jackets. That Cabernet red jacket is so delish, I WANT IT NOW... Lots of color at Paul Smith and Michael Kors also. Kors is playing with lavender... Quite brave for a man's suit, but oh-so-perfect. Loving the baggier pants / Miami Vice jacket combination... Band of Outsiders is keeping it classic, but adding accessories in bright colors. And again, lots of vests and t-shirts everywhere. Great way to wear suit jackets without looking overly stuffy...

Akris Spring/Summer 2010

Current obsession...

the anatomy of givenchy

Give me black, white, architecture, and draping.... and lots of tulle... If I had to guess, that's what went through Riccardo Tisci's subconscious when he designed his Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection for Givenchy. This feast for the eye is so simple, yet absolutely powerful. The structured jackets are sick, and I want each and every single one... the dresses are feminine yet there's androgyny, and the pants are never-ending. The pointy hats are totally something straight out of Coneheads.

Mad Fashion

Every Sunday we tune in to escape into a flawed, and insanely beautiful time, where men were rascals and women were true ladies... By watching the Mad Men and women we forget about our boring modern lives, while desperately searching our bar for that martini mix we got for Christmas a few years back. And the clothes... oh the clothes. Absolutely immaculate. Each outfit consisting of several pieces, tailored to perfection, curve-hugging on the ladies, and powerful on the men. I couldn't help myself so I sought out Mad Men inspired modern pieces.
